The role of DB2 Express-C in the Information on demand world

Abstract
Students will learn how to develop rapidly XML applications supported by a database that stores XML documents natively. DB2 version 9 is a hybrid data base server that allows users to store both relational and XML data, enabling the development of applications compliant with the principles of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
IBM is making this technology available for free with the DB2 Express-C edition, in the context of a volunteer program specifically designed to students.
Students will therefore have the possibility to incorporate the latest technologies in their research applications for free.
